Introduction to Tropic and a little bit about how I started as a Tropic Ambassador.

What is Tropic?

Let me start by telling you about Tropic. Tropic Skincare is the brainchild of Susie Ma, who grew up in Cairns, Australia and was surrounded by an abundance of sunshine and natural ingredients. Susie’s environment and childhood has played a huge part in the products created at Tropic.
Tropic has developed into a multi-award-winning skincare and make up company which has won over one hundred awards and featured in Vogue, The Sunday Times, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar and Good Housekeeping and many more publications, they’re leading the way in sustainable beauty that is natural, vegan and cruelty free. The products are freshly made right here in the UK using the most innovative and effective ingredients that mother nature has to offer.
All this started in Susie’s very own kitchen at home as a teenager in 2004. As Susie said “Natural skincare is all I’ve ever known. As a chemist, my grandma was clued up about the side effects of synthetic chemical ingredients. She ensured that our family led a natural lifestyle, from the food we ate, to the cleaning products we had – and our beauty routines. The ingredients we use at Tropic are those I’d find on my doorstep back in Tropical North Queensland. My mum and I would tour local markets and mix beauty products in our kitchen with natural ingredients, such as macadamia butter and eucalyptus. Keeping things simple meant we only used what we needed, which was healthier for our bodies and purse strings!” (Natural Health Magazine, 2017)
Do you remember The Apprentice back in 2011? Possibly not, but despite coming third Susie secured an investment with Lord Alan Sugar and they became 50/50 partners, the business and the Tropic name began to grow, and it continues to grow!

How I got started….

I was introduced to Tropic Skincare products by my friend Jenny in February 2019 and after one week of using them I was blown away with how good they were. I fell in love with the textures, smells and importantly the results straight away!
Becoming an ambassador happened organically for me, you see there is a reason these products are not sold in shops or department stores, it’s because they have no nasty chemicals in them which means they have no preservatives! They must be used within the year so they cannot just sit on a shelf in a shop, some of them must be kept in the fridge to keep them super fresh!
Tropic Skincare is unlike any other company I’ve ever come across before. A genuine force for good with ethics and integrity behind everything, which was hugely attractive to me for endless reasons. I love the quality and the purity of the products and the fact that their ingredients are so transparent.
I have always loved skincare and beauty products and from a young age I’ve always been encouraged to look after my skin, however, I’ve always been quite cynical and never bought in to the miracle creams and potions that are widely available. I cleansed, toned and moisturised, went from brand to brand, then settled with one or two favourite brands I rotated. Then came the facial wipes. YIKES!!!
Tropic is the only skincare range I have ever used where I can say totally objectively that the results are fabulous. I FELT AND STILL FEEL LIKE I HAVE A SPA EXPERIENCE EVERY NIGHT!!!

Tropic has opened my eyes….

It really has! I’ve shocked myself!
I now consider sustainability, waste, what products I buy, where I buy from, excessive use of plastic, chemical ingredients, toxicity and the list continues to grow. This just happened, I didn’t set out to do it. It felt natural to consider these things due to what I was learning about the products. I am not an eco-warrior, nor am I a vegan. HOWEVER, I am making better informed choices and changes to be a force for good.

Beautiful Skin is a Marathon not a Sprint and it’s never too early or late in your life to start an effective and easy routine and see results.
